The heat of summer has me longing for the shade of my front porch, where I can leisurely sit in the evenings with a good book or just watch the world go by.  There’s also nothing better than sipping on a summer cocktail whilst I enjoy a good parch sit, but what to drink?  I’ve seen plenty of videos and tik-toks on summer drink hacks that look fun, refreshing, and tasty.  Here’s a sample of a few that you might want to try during the dog days of July and August:

Dr Pepper

Take a bottle of Corona beer, drink it down until it’s just to the bottom of the neck, then refill it with Disaronno (an Amaretto-flavored liqueur).  The result?  Tastes just like a Dr. Pepper.

Skittles

Combine six ounces of Malibu rum, twelve ounces of strawberry frozen daiquiri mix, and six ounces of Green Gatorade.  Mix well and serve.  You can also go the easy route and use 99 Fruit Punch (99 Brand Fruit Punch flavor liqueur) mixed with Sprite soda.  Taste the rainbow!   

Hershey’s Chocolate Bar

Combine Hennessey with chocolate milk and viola!  The taste mimics the iconic chocolate favorite.

Juicy Fruit

99 Bananas (99 Brand banana-flavored Schnapps – use a “mini” bottle if you can get one) mixed with “Squirt” Grapefruit soda.  Tastes like Juicy Fruit gum, except you can’t blow any bubbles.

Ultimate “Bomb Pop”

Mix Smirnoff Red, White, and Berry vodka with “Fireworks” flavored ‘Faygo’ soda.  Tastes like the classic “bomb pop” popsicle.

Cinnamon Roll

“Fireball” Cinnamon Whiskey mixed with cream soda.  Did someone say breakfast of champions?

PB&J

Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey mixed with Fanta Grape (or Strawberry) soda.  No need to even cut the crusts off like your Mom used to do.
