Autumn Is Officially Here! My Favorite Time of the Year
Well, another relatively dry and hot summer is in the record books, and I’m now looking forward to the cool nights and colorful landscape that makes fall my favorite time of the year, especially in the region where I live.
In addition to the vibrant foliage, there are many other things that make autumn my favorite of all the seasons.
- Bonfires
- Apple cider
- Casseroles and hearty stews
- Flannel shirts and layered clothing
- Nights sleeping with the windows open
- Frosty mornings
- A good college football game on a Saturday afternoon
- Fall parades and festivals
- Apple butter slathered over a warm English muffin
- Roasted butternut squash
- A good afternoon nap while snuggled into a warm sweatshirt
- The leaves crunching under my feet while out walking
- A porch decorated with colorful mums
- Sharing a nice bottle of red wine in front of a fireplace
- Honeycrisp apples
- Pinecones

As summer ends everything is starting to dry up. Fall is like a renewal of color. That time between summer’s heat and winter’s cold that perks you up.
